James, son of Zebedee, was one of Jesus' twelve apostles and the brother of John. Together, they were fishermen called by Jesus to follow Him, leaving their nets behind. Jesus nicknamed them the "Sons of Thunder," likely because of their bold and fiery nature.
James was part of Jesus' inner circle, present at key moments like the Transfiguration and the Garden of Gethsemane. He was the first of the apostles to be martyred, executed by the sword under King Herod Agrippa I around 44 A.D., showing his deep commitment to Christ even unto death.
